Prof. Feifei Xu

 

Prof. Feifei Xu is currently the Assistant Dean ofSchool ofHumanities,Southeast University,China. She is the Director of Centre for Ecotourism and Regional Development,SoutheastUniversity. Feifei gained her PhD from Nanjing University, China in collaboration with University of Waterloo,Canada, where she was trained and supervised by Prof. Geoffrey Wall from School of Geography, Faculty of Environment Studies. She worked at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, andNanjingUniversity before she moved to theUK. She worked at Bournemouth University,UK as a Senior Lecturer, where she gained her PGCE and her Certificate of Doctoral Supervision. In 2014, Feifei joined the School of Humanities,Southeast University.

Prof. Xu has maintained a productive research agenda with over 50 peer-reviewed papers such as ‘Tourism Management’(SSCI), ‘International Journal of Tourism Research’(SSCI) , ‘International Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing’(SSCI) , ‘Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research’(SSCI) etc. And she served as Principle Investigator of grants and sponsored projects with funding from such sources as British Academy, Chinese National Nature Science Foundation, and China’s Ministry of Education. She has supervised three PhDs and supported over 30 masters’ students’ dissertations. Her research interests include sustainable tourism, cross cultural issues, and digital and smart tourism. Feifei has been awarded two “Best Research Paper Award’ at international conferences.

Prof. Xu sits on the Standing Committee of Chinese Association of Tourism Geography. She is a fellow of UK National Higher Education Academy, a member of International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), and a member of Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA). She is a grant reviewer of Chinese National Natural Science Foundation, and a reviewer for many tourism journals. Prof. Xu also holds two visiting professorships fromAnhuiNormalUniversity andHainanNormalUniversity.
